AI Wallet — Buying and Using Credits
Learn how the AI Wallet works, how to purchase credits, set daily spend caps, and track your AI usage.
What is the AI Wallet
The AI Wallet is your prepaid credit balance for all AI-powered features in Lognitor. Every AI interaction — chat messages, auto-triage, error analysis, incident timelines, release analysis, natural language alerts — consumes credits from your wallet.
Think of it as a pay-as-you-go balance: you buy credits upfront, and they're deducted as you use AI features across your organization.
Who Can Buy Credits
Only the team owner can purchase AI credits. This ensures centralized control over AI spending. Admins, members, and viewers can use AI features (consuming credits), but they cannot add credits to the wallet.
If you're not the owner and the wallet is empty, contact your team owner to purchase more credits.
Credit Packs
Lognitor offers multiple credit packs at different tiers. Each pack provides a set number of AI credits at a fixed price. Larger packs offer better value per credit.
To see the current pack options and pricing, navigate to Billing → Wallet in your dashboard.
$2 Trial Credit
Every new account automatically receives $2 worth of AI credits on signup. This lets you try AI features — chat, auto-triage, error analysis, and more — without entering payment details.
The trial credit works exactly like purchased credits: it's deducted as you use AI features and does not expire.
Daily Spend Cap
The daily spend cap limits how many AI credits your organization can consume in a single day. This prevents unexpected credit depletion from heavy automated usage (like auto-triage processing a large spike of new errors).
- Default cap — Every organization starts with a default daily spend cap.
- Maximum cap — There is a maximum daily spend cap that cannot be exceeded.
- Adjusting the cap — The team owner can change the daily spend cap from Billing → Wallet. You can raise it up to the maximum or lower it to control costs.
When the daily cap is reached, AI features pause for the rest of the day and resume at midnight UTC. Non-AI features (logging, error tracking, alerts, monitors) are unaffected.
Credits Never Expire
Purchased AI credits have no expiration date. They remain in your wallet until used, regardless of how long ago they were purchased. There's no "use it or lose it" pressure.
No Refunds
AI credit purchases are non-refundable. Since credits don't expire, you'll always be able to use them. Choose a pack size that matches your expected usage — you can always buy more later.
How to Buy Credits
- Navigate to Billing → Wallet in your dashboard.
- You'll see your current credit balance and available credit packs.
- Select the pack you'd like to purchase.
- Confirm the purchase. Payment is processed through your organization's payment method on file.
- Credits are added to your wallet immediately and are available for use across all projects in your organization.
You must have a payment method on file before purchasing credits. Add one from Billing → Payment Method if you haven't already.
Where to See Usage
Transactions Tab
The Transactions tab on the Wallet page shows your complete purchase history:
- Date and time of each purchase
- Pack purchased and credit amount
- Payment amount
- Running balance after each transaction
AI Usage Tab
The AI Usage tab provides a breakdown of how credits are being consumed:
- Credit usage by feature (chat, auto-triage, error analysis, release analysis, etc.)
- Usage by team member
- Daily consumption chart over time
- Remaining balance and projected days until depletion based on recent usage
Check the AI Usage tab regularly to understand your team's consumption patterns. If credits are depleting faster than expected, consider raising the daily spend cap gradually rather than all at once.
